SHELDON B.L 0 CHELMSLEY TOWN 5
CHELMSLEY TOWN are threatening to sweep the board in the Mercian Amateur League. Present leaders of the premier division, they are also in the semifinals of the Aston Villa Shield and beat Sheldon British Legion 5-0 on Saturday in the Senior Cup.
But for Sheldon's in-form keeper Chelmsley would have had a lot more goats in a one-sided match. Robinson with a good run through the Sheldon defence gave Chelmsley Town the lead after half an hour and they went further ahead with a penalty scored by Morris.
Despite a tricky surface both sides were playing good football and Sheldon answered Chelmsley's - two goals with a series of lively attacks.
But Chelmsley gradually took over and constant pressure led to a Sheldon defender putting the ball Past his own goalkeeper. Tonks rounded off a good move by Nicholas and Stevens to more number four from close range. Hemming, who had a great game, capped a fine performance with a low hard shot that completed Chelmsley's nap hand.
